Channa Manoharan

Channa is the Chairman elect of SLASSCOM effective 01 July 2020.  He served as the Vice Chairman of SLASSCOM from July 2018 to June 2019. Channa has been a Board Member of SLASSCOM since 2015. 

Channa represents SLASSCOM, the ICT Advisory Committee of the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka

Channa is passionate about capacity building in the IT /BPM industry and has contributed to market access and talent related capacity and policy initiatives since 2005.    Some of the key initiatives involved were the ICT Capacity Building Program, a USD 5 million program to support the industry via 29 strategies cutting across skills development, talent capacity building, market access programs and quality enhancement. 

Channa was the project chair of the FAO Task Force, an initiative to create a FAO industry specific qualification through a collaboration between SLASSCOM, Information Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) and  Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA SRI LANKA). 

Furthermore, Channa was instrumental in launching the FAO Accelerator program, an export pathway mentoring program for professional services firms, a collaborative project between Sri Lanka Association for Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) and Institute of Chartered Accountants Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).

Channa is a member of the leadership team, COO and Advisory Leader for PwC Sri Lanka and Maldives. Channa has over 25 years of experience in three of the big four professional services firms.  During his career he has been extensively involved in providing management consulting and advisory services to multi-nationals and multilateral agencies in relation to business transformation including growth strategy encompassing organic and inorganic growth. He has facilitated expansion strategies to emerging markets including cross boarder transaction advisory services.

As a professional appointment, Channa served as a council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka from 2008 to 2015. Channa served in the ExCo of Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka an apex body for 36 professional associations as Honorary Treasurer in 2003/2004 and 1999/2000.

Channa is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) and Fellow of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka.
