With more than 30 years’ experience, he is driven by an endless quest to seek knowledge and has thus garnered a wealth of expertise that spans across business development, M&A, business strategy and process engineering across both manufacturing and the services sectors.

Cheah Kok Hoong is well known his fearlessness and confident throughout his IT career.  He often pushed himself beyond his comfort level to do great things and now; resigned as the Group CEO & Director for Hitachi Sunway Information Systems to start up Cognitive Digital SdnBhd. Hoeing into his entrepreneur spirit, Cheah is looking to innovate and disrupt the industry digitally. 

Cheah is instrumental in driving the growth of the Malaysian ICT industry, both locally and regionally. And, he plays an active role in developing the next generation of talents for Malaysia. He is a person who is able to influence the industry and he is actively involved in the country's IT industry developments and continually propagates the advancement of the overall IT capabilities and resources within the diverse local verticals.

And, with his experience, Cheah was invited to serve on Sunway University and SoftwareONE Industrial Advisory Board (IAB). In addition, he was recently appointed as Adjunct Practice Professor in the Sunway University Business School, Sunway University.

In 2016,  PLC Hall of Fame for leadership and stewardship in promoting the PLC Leadership programmeas part of the National ICT Certification & Standardization Grid (NICS Competence Grid). In 2010, he was conferred PIKOM’s CIO Excellence Award for his outstanding leadership and for being instrumental in the ICT adoption in the Sunway Group.
