Joel Walker Global Head of Corporate Services Procurement at Vodafone Speaker for the Changing Global Operating Models Session Joel Walker is Global Head of Corporate Services Procurement for Vodafone’s centralised procurement function based in Luxembourg. The role involves owning the contracts and commercial models used between Vodafone and many of its partners around the world partnering internal and external stakeholders to innovate and transform ways of working. Having previously run the Customer Operations Sourcing team for over 5 years, with over 55,000 agents and a billion euros of spend he now has a wider role responsible for a range of Vodafone’s indirect spend areas. |

Joel started on the phones in a call centre, 25 years ago and has grown through a range of exciting roles;
- For Orange he was recruited to help establish their telesales capability, went on to build its Outsource Management team and then spent 5 years designing and creating its Offshore operations as Programme Director, then Head of Outsource Operations, leading the team from idea to operations of over 2500 people, living and working in India for nearly 5 years with responsibility for all areas of operations, quality and budget.
- For Cable & Wireless he was Head of Sourcing Strategy & Implementation for nearly 5 years helping the organisation unlock the art of what was possible from outsourced and offshore operations and led a range of technology transformation programmes before joining Vodafone in 2011.
- At Vodafone he was recruited for his deep domain knowledge of call centres. He has led the transformation of operating models across the Group’s footprint, been pioneering the protection of mental wellbeing of call centre workers and supporting the growth (pre-Covid) in Home Agent Working.
