Heading the Global Trade Development Department at NASSCOM and responsible for global positioning of NASSCOM and industry. Primary role is to Develop, Direct, Strategize and implement all NASSCOM international efforts regarding Market development, Policy advocacy, Communication and Outreach activities. On the Market development side, focus on identifying business opportunities in developed, emerging and strategic markets globally and implementing a plan to access business opportunities in target markets for member companies. The Policy advocacy part includes Research to evaluation – emerging legislative and regulatory issues that may impact the industry and making appropriate recommendations/action plan to address industry issues in key focus markets by working closely with various stakeholders. On the outreach side, role entails maintaining relationship with Think tanks, Analysts, Embassies, Indian Missions overseas, partner organisationand country specific stakeholders. Managing inward and outward delegations from companies and visiting dignitaries.
Previously, have worked on trade, investment and policy work over a number of years promoting business growth, both strategy and execution assistance from global markets into India and have worked on assisting Indian companies go global. Previously, have worked as Country Head for Scottish Development International based out of the British High Commission for 8 years from 2000-2008 (January).
Extremely well networked and enjoy a high-profile leadership position and participated and spoken at various events organized by CNBC, NASSCOM, Economic Times and a number of Indian market awareness raising events in India and globally on market entry strategies.
Has an MBA from University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
